In 1993 there was band from Bergen, Norway, called ÖRTH, comprised of V-Rex, BORKNAGARS’s Grim and GORGOROTHS’s Ares, which recorded an album titled "Nocturno Inferno" in 1996, but it was never released. After Grim’s suicide in 1999, V-Rex resurrected the project in 2001 and renamed it ARVAS and began to work on quite a few releases. One of which is the album "Blessed From Below... Ad Sathanas Noctum". Since the early inception ARVAS has managed to keep the same raw spirit and atmosphere they created on their demos yet with a much better production and mastering for this new version of what is the "Blessed From Below... Ad Sathanas Noctum" album. ARVAS has improved their vision and their scope while still delivering a raw "in your face" style of "true" black metal that is delivered in the glorious tradition of the past. "Blessed From Below... Ad Sathanas Noctum" shines with an honest purity that is all but lost in the current atmosphere, which is not surprising since this is music written by long time musicians of the truest form. Odium Records never disappoints with their releases and ARVAS really delivers.
