CIEN (Polish for "Shadow") offer up some depressive, melancholic, well presented and aggressive music straddling the bleak and depressive side while also bringing a more aggressive blast meets melodic strain. "Ecce Homo" is an interesting album and overall, the band delivers a strong black metal that draws influence from depressive BM, folk, death and doom which is quite piercing and emotionally affecting in tone. All this is wrapped in an old school style BM with energy and bite. The debut album takes us into the gloomy and cold climate full of hypnotic and anxious melody. Seven tracks of classic black metal replenished by cold wave melancholy and depressive catatonic doom metal. Songs that drive into the consciousness and rooted restless visions of their creator and delivering topics of life, faith, feelings, the last moments before death and traversing into the abyss of shadows full of condemnation, reflective pain of existence, hatred for the laws of life.
