Florida had a strong Death Metal scene in the second half of the 80's and early 90's it was a wellspring from where a lot of the bands from the early invasion of Death Metal started. Many bands from those days remained hidden deep within the underground, and one of those were KILLING ADDICTION, from Ocala (Florida), who now re-emerges with their second album, "Mind of a New God", now over 28 years after their debut, "Omega Factor" from 1993. Their music is a raw and traditional form of Old School Death Metal, brutal, massive and nasty, but with a new careful insight on the musical arrangements. "Mind of a New God" with its fast tempos and aggressive growls, combined with a simple and brutal approach are heavily influenced by old POSSESSED. "Mind Of A New God" respects the band's past, with the nasty and abrasive insight of the genre, but adds a modern definition, in a way that elevates KILLING ADDICTION way beyond there humble beginning. Old School Death Metal followers rejoice as this will impress.
