NORDLAND consists of Vorh who is responsible for all instruments and vocals. While one-man-projects are nothing new in this day and age the professional quality presented on this album is fascinating. You will immediately notice the inspiration from the icons within the Scandinavian underground of the nineties while incorporating ideas to make the music fresh and energetic. The main riffs will be familiar with their nostalgic sounds while some of the chord progressions feel like a modern interpretation on something that has been written three decades ago. Vorh has a fantastic talent for creating haunting and beautiful melodies that feel old and saturated with melancholic depression while also creating an atmosphere that shines as beacons of respect and homage for the past.
