We would also say that the musicianship on this album was unrivaled at the time, and that Chicago's OPPRESSOR was a severely underappreciated death metal band that never really received the recognition they deserved. If you missed "Solstice Of Oppression" when it was in circulation back in the early 90's you should pick this reissue up now and check it out for yourself. It's old school enough for MORBID ANGEL and SUFFOCATION followers but dynamic and intense enough for more modern death metal worshippers of bands like ORIGIN. An early wave band that is filled with a feeling of simultaneous claustrophobia and spaciousness which conveys very complex musically coherent ideas. An album worth your time!
