The long-awaited second album from Haugesund, Norway's thrashers SHAKMA, "On Tenebrous Wings". This album picks up right where the debut left off, but while the band still sounds as relentless as ever, the songs are more developed, and the general tone darker. Where "House Of Possession" was the perfect to-the-point debut, "On Tenebrous Wings" is a deadlier sequel, expanding the band's dark horizons (no pun intended), and proving that SHAKMA are a force to be reckoned with. The songs are full of sinister vibes, sharp riffs and high velocity. SHAKMA dive deeply into the boiling essence of the bastard genres called black thrash or death thrash when you consider the similarities to bands like SODOM, DESTRUCTION early SLAYER, as well as current acts NEKROMANTHEON or AURA NOIR. You can also not miss the bands affinity for the Bay Area, circa late 80's. From start to finish this album just rips and is absolutely fantastic. Seriously, buy it.
