FOREST OF IMPALED unleash a violent and battle-scarred strike of American Black/Death Metal with Rise and Conquer, a release that captures the band at their most militant, sharpened, and uncompromising. This album surges forward with razor-tight riffing, siege-engine drumming, and venom-laced vocals, all forged within an atmosphere steeped in war, occult hostility, and ancient triumph.
From the first assault, Rise and Conquer embodies the band’s signature fusion of U.S. death metal brutality and cold European black metal darkness. The songwriting moves between furious speed, crushing mid-tempo marches, and ritualistic atmospheric breaks, creating a dynamic yet relentlessly aggressive experience. Every track feels like a battlefield hymn — sharpened, hostile, and drenched in smoke and blood.
The band’s pedigree is unmistakable, featuring members tied to Chicago’s underground elite: SARCOPHAGUS, KOMMANDANT, and U.S. Black Metal icon KRIEG. This lineage brings a depth of extremity and conviction that permeates every moment of the album.
Drawing from this sharpened heritage, Rise and Conquer stands alongside the melodic-but-deadly darkness of NECROPHOBIC, the barbaric American Black Metal violence of THORNSPAWN, the militant war-driven ferocity of DESTROYER 666, and the razor-sharp Swedish Black/Death aggression of IN AETERNUM — a perfect reflection of the album’s hostile, triumphant energy.
A violent, triumphant, and atmosphere-drenched release — FOREST OF IMPALED once again prove why they remain one of the most underrated forces in American extreme metal.
