KJELD seems to discard entirely old notions of how "true" black metal should sound in favor of a more modern approach, which is not a bad thing at all as this Dutch band deliver quite tasteful and potent hymns to lose yourself in. While they sound somewhat avant-garde this is also music that is approached from within the framework of the classics. "Banier Fan Frisia" will impress those who are seeking the "true", while also being intriguing for those seeking something fresh with a modern production. KJELD really deliver the best of both worlds on this mini album and after listening to this record many times, we here at DHR have found ourselves well satisfied with this interesting band from Holland. Overall, you get the experience you are supposed to get from a black metal record, moreover, KJELD adds diversity to it. Worth your time!
