Ghastly Memories marks another descent into the frostbitten domain SORCIER DES GLACES has carved out for decades. This double LP drags the listener through towering riffs glazed in ice, long stretches of haunted ambience, and that unmistakable Quebecois coldness SDG has perfected since the Snowland era. The atmosphere is vast, glacial, and unrelenting — a slow march through abandoned winter landscapes where melody freezes mid-air and the drums echo like distant storms. The production is raw yet wide, giving every riff room to breathe while maintaining the band’s signature isolationist chill. A definitive continuation of the SDG legacy and one of their most immersive works to date.

Those devoted to the frozen majesty of BLACK WINTER MOON, the atmospheric bleakness of FROZEN SHADOWS, the icy melodic stride of STILLA, or the cold northern spirit of EVILFEAST will find Ghastly Memories right at home in their collection. Those who follow the classic Quebec lineage — early FORTERESSE, GRIMOIRE, and the more spectral moments of MONARQUE — will immediately recognize the same winds blowing through this album. If your shelves already hold the colder side of the underground, this belongs beside them.
