Houston's CRIMSON MASSACRE are surprisingly obscure and one could say pretty much nonexistant and unrecognized in the tech-death circles. Which seems strange considering that "The Luster of Pandemonium" is an ultra tech-death output with a very rough edge. And I would imagine that is why most neck-beard guys with ponytails on the top of their heads have overlooked this album. Though I couldn't tell you if it grinds out more technical ability than, say, "Noctambulant" or "Apocalyptic Feasting," "The Luster of Pandemonium" subjectively feels like the most unrelentingly, single-mindedly technical piece of death metal I've heard in quite some time. While many tech bands integrate polished production and sporadic forays into more pop oriented genres, CRIMSON MASSACRE "The Luster of Pandemonium" is a raw yet precise guitar symphony of technical brutality. The sheer amount of riffs found in these 52 minutes is astounding! Another overlooked gem!
