MANTICORE stand as a three-headed embodiment of American extremity unyielding, proudly barbaric, and viciously devoted to the primitive doctrines of slaughter-worshipping death metal. Their path has dragged them, blood-streaked and resolute, to the Dark Horizon Distro via Old Cemetery Records. The US based MANTICORE has forged for us perhaps the most putrid, bone-grinding production to rupture eardrums since the rise of the Swedish death metal plague that every true disciple of the genre knows by sound alone. Where the Swedes conjure the stench of bloated corpses marinating in post-mortem filth, "Behold Ascension of the Execrated" is baptized instead in a molten, asphyxiating haze an oppressive, singular dissonance that clings like the breath of something ancient and starving. The album doesn't just sound foul; it devours the air around it, leaving only a suffocating void where light and mercy once lived.
